GUIDE
How to use Sentinel
Six short steps. Privacy details are in the policy.
1. Start
- Use a phone with Android 8.0 or newer. A device you no longer carry is enough.
- Plug in a charger if it will stay as a camera.
- Open Sentinel and pick one mode. Do not turn everything on the first time.
2. Home
- Aim the phone at a door or a room. Front or back camera, your choice.
- Mark a motion zone. Cover the rest with a mask, for example a neighbour's window.
- Turn on loop recording. Old clips drop off when the space you set runs out.
- A person, motion and a loud sound are judged on that phone. The picture is not sent to a model we host.
3. Live view
- On the camera phone, show the code or the link.
- On the second phone, open it in a browser.
- From there you can see the picture and, if you allow it, talk, use the light or sound the siren.
- The link expires. Do not leave it in a message after you are done.
This website's address does not open your camera. You need the one-time link from the phone.
4. Drive
- Mount the phone so it sees the road and has sky for GPS.
- Turn on drive mode. Recording runs in a loop.
- The screen shows speed and heading. A shock keeps a mark of the event.
- The screen can turn off. Recording does not have to stop, and the phone heats less.
5. Parked
- Leave the phone in the car and arm the watch. There is a short delay so you can get out.
- Tilt and shock raise an alert. GPS shows whether the car left the parking spot.
- The alert goes only where you type it: SMS, Telegram, a webhook or email. An empty field sends nothing.
6. What stays with you
- The recording is on the phone. Delete it in the app, or by uninstalling.
- There is no account. There is no film library of ours.
- Live view may use a temporary tunnel to pass the router. The tunnel does not keep an archive.
- A PIN can guard the stop button, so someone at the phone cannot switch protection off in one tap.
